I used the Avis app to reserve a car for immediate pick up upon arrival at LAX around 11 pm 2/24/2016. I thought I specified a return time of 6 pm the following day, but apparently I accidentally specified "am" instead of "pm". Not sure why it should matter, because all car rentals are for 24 hour periods, right? Wrong, at least for Avis. I got hit with a late fee upon returning it the next day before 6 pm. Customer service flatly refused to waive the late charge when I called them to explain. Who charges a late fee for a 19 hour car rental? Avis does.
I will never use this app again, and I will never rent another car from Avis again.
